INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS & USES OF PH MEASURING

pH is a quantitative scale that specifies the acidity or basicity (alkalinity) an aqueous solution, translating the values of the concentration of the hydrogen ion. The range goes from 0 to 14. Values that are lower than 7 indicate an acidic solution, while values that are greater than 7 indicate basicity.

There are many industries in which pH measuring techniques are used on a daily basis. In the Food & Drink industry, for instance, they are often used to ensure compliance with regulations and prevent pathogen growth in the production of fermented products.

When it comes to the production of fruit juices or wine in particular, acidity testing can be very helpful to ensure quality of taste. Other applications include measuring the water quality of water supplies, swimming pools or aquariums for instance.
