Photometers are essentially instruments that measure light. From labs to water treatment and aquariums, they have many applications across different industries.
If you require any help choosing the right instrument, get in touch with our team of experts. Whether you’re looking for a digital chlorine tester or a reagent, we can provide you with the advice and information you need to make a decision.
Forget chlorine test strips. Go digital and take your testing to the next level with our digital photometers.
Chlorine is a well-known water disinfectant that is usually added to swimming pools, spas or hot tubs to kill germs. Once it is added to water, this chemical element (Cl) presents itself as free and total chlorine (sum of free and combined).
By checking both levels of Cl, it becomes easier to make the necessary adjustments and maintain good sanitation.
Our portable photometers help maintain high water quality. If you see that total chlorine is high, but free chlorine is low, that means there isn’t enough chlorine in the water to deal with current levels of contamination.
We also stock high-quality pH testers which allow you to check if your pool is safe to swim in. If the water becomes too alkaline (basic), it can reduce the effectiveness of chlorine. Unbalanced water can also lead to other issues such as bacterial growth or corroded fixtures like diving boards. Your pool’s pH should not be higher than 7.8 or lower than 7 to ensure swimmer safety and comfort.
To use our Milwaukee digital chlorine testers, you’ll need chlorine reagents. Our reagents utilise the DPD Method where a reaction between chlorine and reagent cause a pink tint in the sample.
No calibration is needed for our Milwaukee devices.
