COLD ENVIRONMENTS MEAN HIGHER RISK

Working in environments with low temperatures can cause cold stress and lead to problems such as hypothermia, chilblains, frostbite, and other injuries or illnesses.

There are many industries and jobs (indoors and outdoors) in which you are regularly exposed to cold such as frozen food or construction workers.

The constant loss of heat in such settings must be actively counteracted to prevent the harmful effects of low temperatures.

STAY PROTECTED WITH APPROPRIATE COLD STORE CLOTHING

In order to work safely in a cold store or freezer, you’ll need appropriate, warm personal protective clothing and ensure thermal comfort. This will help reduce risk and keep you protected.

Whether you’re a forklift driver or a cold room manager, there are several steps you need to take to ensure your health & safety.

When purchasing cold store clothing, make sure to pick the correct size. Picking a small, tight size can restrict blood flow and adversely affect circulation.

It’s better to wear multiple layers than a single thick one. This is because the air between layers will offer better protection against the cold.

Remember: always take adequate breaks in warm environments if you work in a low-temperature setting.
