Hygiena MicroSnap E.Coli & Coliform Swabs (Step 1) Pk 100

The MicroSnap™ Coliform swabs by Hygiene are a rapid test for detection of Coliform bacteria, no other lab equipment required except for an incubator capable of 37°C and a Luminometer.

This Hygiena Coliform test uses a novel bioluminogenic test reaction that generates light when enzymes that are characteristic of Coliform bacteria react with specialised substrates to produce light.

The light generating signal is then quantified in the EnSURE & EnSURE Touch to give a result.

This product is the first step of a 2 step process which is a enrichment step.

Hygiena MicroSnap Coliform is able to give results in the same day, depending on the level of detection required.

• E. coli (E. coli detection kit required)
• Klebsiella
• Citrobacter
• Enterobacter

Step 1 - Enrichment process

Quantitative Results (Enumeration) – 6/7 Hours Incubation

Qualitative Results (Presence/Absence) – 8 Hours Incubation

Process – simple to carry out and the environmental test is very similar to ATP testing.

Step 2 - Detection

MS2-COLIFORM Hygiena MicroSnap™ Coliform Detection Device (Step 2) Pk 100

Detection – 10 minutes Incubation

Process – Transfer the enriched sample from step 1 into the detection swab for incubation, read results using Ensure & Ensure Touch Luminometers.

Note – If a positive result is found then you can test for E.coli using the same broth from step 1 by using the MicroSnap™ E. coli Detection Device.
